WASHINGTON - Almost 100 Army Reserve soldiers will proudly march in the 2013 Presidential Inauguration Parade on Jan. 21 in representation of the more than 200,000 Army Reserve soldiers currently serving both at home and abroad in support of their nation's call.
Eleven separate major subordinate commands and one Regional Support Command have personnel participating in the Inaugural Parade which will march down 15 blocks of Pennsylvania Avenue between the U.S. Capitol and the White House beginning at 2:30 p.m. EST, with an estimated two hours to complete the march from start to finish.
“You are representing every Army Reserve soldier across our nation and tomorrow each of you will be a part of history that you will remember 20 years from now,” Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Talley, Chief of the Army Reserve and 7th Commanding General for the U.S. Army Reserve Command, said to the participating soldiers during a rehearsal for the parade conducted at Fort Myer, Va. on Jan. 20.
“You have spent some very long days leading up to this monumental event. Your families have made many sacrifices. My wife and I are very proud of each one of you, and we will stand proud and salute you for your service to our country and the Army Reserve.”
The 200th MPCOM was charged with the mission to prepare Army Reserve soldiers to march with America’s best during the parade.
