    FORT HOOD, Texas - Fort Hood officials have released the name of a soldier who died from injuries suffered from a motorcycle accident, Jan. 16. He was pronounced deceased by Bell County Justice of the Peace, Bill Cooke at the scene of the accident.

    Sgt. 1st Class James Ryan Kurth, 26, whose home of record is listed as Corpus Christi, Texas, entered the military in January 2004 as a multiple launch rocket system crewmember and served more recently as an electronic warfare specialist. He was assigned to 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, since November 2011.

    Kurth deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from October 2005 to September 2006 and from November 2007 to February 2009.

    Kurth's awards and decorations include three Army Commendation Medals, seven Army Achievement Medals, two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with three Campaign Stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, Combat Action Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver Wheeled Vehicles and Driver Track Vehicles.
