NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. - The second week of Red Flag 13-3 began March 5 here. As the exercise moves forward, the 79th Fighter Squadron "Tigers" continue to fly several missions in order to gain as much training as possible.
Red Flag is a combat training exercise involving the U.S. Air Force and its allies.
It is hosted north of Las Vegas on the Nevada Test and Training Range - the U.S. Air Force's military training area with more than 12,000 square miles of airspace and 2.9 million acres of land.
Airmen assigned to the 20th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron have worked around-the clock to maintain the 79th FS jets while also launching and recovering the planes before and after each mission.
