COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Dr. Adis Vila, USAFA’s Chief Diversity Officer, is scheduled to speak to Cheyenne Mountain Rotary Club, at noon April 18 at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort.

Accompanying the diversity officer will be approximately 10 cadets who have been selected to participate in this year’s multicultural exchange. Each of the cadets has a diverse background and varying cultural experience.

The focus of Dr. Vila’s speech is greater understanding of the diversity in the Air Force and the Ambassadors of Inclusion program.

The Ambassadors of Inclusion program permits cadets to learn about organizational culture while interns in multinational companies. Last year through this program, 10 cadets traveled to six different countries and learned cultural self-awareness and cross-cultural competencies.

Dr. Vila is a former Rotarian, a former professor of international business and international law, and uses that experience to guide this program. Early in her career, thanks to a Rotary Ambassadorial scholarship, Dr. Vila studied international law in Switzerland.

This event is designed to further the discussion of diversity, equity and inclusion, and is geared to keep the community informed on USAFA’s commitment to workplace inclusion.
