FORT POLK, La. - The Army Family Team Building program helps family members learn about the Army life and how to deal with the challenges that life as an Army family member can bring.
AFTB teaches these coping skills in three different levels, the first level teaches the family members how to decipher Army acronyms, utilize community resources, and understanding the goal and impact of the Army mission. The second level family members learn how to improve personal skills through development courses of leadership management. Level three the family members teaches leadership skill that the participants in all phases of their life.
“For new spouses we teach about change of command, basic military benefits and entitlements, expectations and impact of the mission on family life,” said Amelia Connor, the Army Community Service Information and Referral Specialist. “These are things that their soldiers understand and take for granite that the spouse understand just because they do.”
