DULAC, La. — Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team Dulac visited and gave the students at Grand Caillou Summer Camp in Dulac a presentation on the Coast Guard’s missions, the importance of boating safety, and aids to navigation, June 12, 2013.

The team spent time visiting with the students during their lunch and answered any questions they had about the Coast Guard.

“The event was a great success, the children were very attentive and smiling from ear to ear the entire time. We plan on continuing similar presentations throughout schools in Terrebonne Parish in the future.” said Senior Chief Petty Officer Nathan Beach, officer-in-charge, Aids to Navigation Team Dulac.

Aids to Navigation Team Dulac’s area of responsibility spans from Barataria Waterway in the east to Bayou Dularge in the west and is responsible for more than 230 aids to navigation. The team’s 11 member crew has a primary mission of aids to navigation and conducts other missions including search and rescue, and environmental protection.
