PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. - Recruits of Bravo Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, and Oscar Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, trudged through the Crucible on July 11-13, 2013, at the combat training area on Parris Island, S.C.
The 54-hour training event tested recruits’ confidence, endurance and commitment to earning the title of United States Marine. At the end of the long, grueling event, a drill instructor presented each recruit with an Eagle, Globe and Anchor and called him or her “Marine” for the first time. Bravo and Oscar companies are scheduled to graduate July 19, 2013.
