ANDERSON, S.C. - More than 100 joint warfighters converged in Anderson, South Carolina to participate in the NORAD and USNORTHCOM sponsored Joint Deployable Integrated Air and Missile Defense Joint Test (JDIAMD-JT). This is the second consecutive year the event has been hosted in Anderson. It will take place July 15-19 at the 263rd Army Air and Missile Defense Command (AAMDC) Headquarters.
The purpose of JDIAMD-JT is to test and validate tactics, techniques and procedures to support NORAD and USNORTHCOM Integrated Air and Missile Defense operations. During the training exercise, participants will practice simulated drills in support of air and missile defense of the United States to enhance joint war fighting capabilities.
“This joint exercise combines the expertise of many groups and creates a more capable force to defend against threats to our nation’s security”, said Major General Greg Batts, 263rd AAMDC Commander. Participants include a diverse group of experienced soldiers, airmen, sailors and civilians representing seven commands across the United States from Alaska to Florida.
When asked about the value of this training exercise, Cy Holliday, JDIAMD-JT Modeling Simulation Lead said, “It’s a great learning experience for those involved. The training assists them in better understanding what to do in a real world situation.”
