PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. - The recruits of Delta Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, practiced martial arts techniques July 16, 2013, on Parris Island, S.C.
The Marine Corps Martial Arts Program combines hand-to-hand combat skills with mental discipline and character development to help transform recruits into honorable warriors. Recruits must earn their tan belts, the first level in the program, to graduate training. Delta Company is scheduled to graduate Sept. 13, 2013.
