CAMP ZAMA, Japan – Maj. Gen. James C. Boozer Sr., officially assumed command of U.S. Army Japan and I Corps (Forward) during an assumption of command ceremony held here today.
Gen. Vincent K. Brooks, commanding general of U.S. Army Pacific headquartered at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, passed the USARJ and I Corps (Forward) flags to Maj. Gen. Boozer who became the 35th general to head the command.
The ceremony was held inside the U.S. Army Aviation Battalion Japan hangar before a crowd of about 300 Japanese and American military and civilian dignitaries, civilian employees and family members.
