PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. - Recruits of Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, endured the 54-hour culminating event of Marine Corps recruit training known as the Crucible on Aug. 8-9, 2013, on Parris Island, S.C.
During the Crucible, recruits must demonstrate everything they learned throughout training and are often pushed past their physical and mental limits as they reach toward the title of Marine.
