November Company is scheduled to graduate Aug. 16, 2013. Parris Island has been the site of Marine Corps recruit training since Nov. 1, 1915. Today, approximately 20,000 recruits come to Parris Island annually for the chance to become United States Marines by enduring 13 weeks of rigorous, transformative training. PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. - The recruits of November Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, completed the Crucible, the 54-hour culminating event of recruit training, Aug. 8-10, 2013, at the combat training area on Parris Island, S.C.

The Crucible tests recruits’ confidence, endurance and commitment to earning the title of United States Marine. At the end of the long, grueling event, drill instructors present each recruit with an Eagle, Globe and Anchor and call him or her Marine for the first time. November Company is scheduled to graduate Aug. 16, 2013.
