PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. - Recruits of Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, learned the fundamentals of Marine Corps marksmanship Aug. 19-23, 2013, on Parris Island, S.C.
For the first of two weeks, the longest basic marksmanship training for recruits of any United States military service, primary marksmanship instructors teach recruits shooting techniques, firing positions, weapons safety and rifle range commands in preparation for them firing live rounds the following week. Mike Company is scheduled to graduate Oct. 4, 2013.
