MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho - Mountain Roundup is a joint exercise that includes units from the German Air Force, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, Royal Canadian Forces and aircraft from the Republic of Singapore's 428th Fighter Squadron stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base. The exercise is the culmination of the GAF Tornado Fighter Weapons Instructor Course.
Military aircraft and personnel will operate from Mountain Home Air Force Base and Boise's Gowen Field for the Mountain Roundup military exercise, Sept. 30 to Oct. 18.
The majority of training is scheduled to take place over the Saylor Creek and Juniper Butte military training ranges located Southeast of Mountain Home. However, Treasure Valley residents may see an increase in the amount of military aerial activity during October. Many of the aircraft involved use afterburning engines, which will increase the noise level in the vicinity of the Boise Airport for the duration of the exercise.
