FORT DOUGLAS, Utah – Effective Nov. 1, 2013, the U.S. Special Operations Command Army Reserve Element, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., is reassigned to the 76th Operational Response Command headquartered out of Fort Douglas, Utah.
Currently the 76th ORC provides operational response capabilities for cyber defense, homeland response, legal support, information operations and global space enhancement requirements to combatant, Unified, Joint, and Department of Defense Agency commanders with over 14,000 troop program unit positions from 14 U.S. AREs.
U.S. ARE organizations are an active, critical presence in Combatant Command missions worldwide. This presence provides a critical U.S. Army Reserve link to the COCOMs leveraging military experience, civilian skills, and availability to meet peacetime, crisis, and wartime requirements on a timely basis.
