NEW ORLEANS - Members of the U.S. Marines Corps will share experiences and accomplishments at the 40th Annual Bayou Classic here, Nov. 26–30, 2013.
The Marines will have a large presence at the Bayou Classic fan festival at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome Nov. 30 as well as a Career Fair and Empowerment Exchange at the Hyatt Regency Hotel New Orleans Nov. 29 which focuses on health and wellness, careers and planning for the future.
The Marines will also be giving back to the city by helping the New Orleans Police Department provide Thanksgiving dinner service to the local community and the Marine Corps Band New Orleans will lead the Bayou Classic Thanksgiving Parade.
This year marks the 14th straight year the Marines have sponsored the Bayou Classic making them one of the longest standing partners with the event, which has become one of the most distinguished sporting events in the African American community. The Marines partnership in the event is part of the Marine Corps’ greater effort to attract men and women with a diversity of background, culture and skill to the Marine Corps.
For more information about scheduling interviews or media coverage of the Marines during this event, please contact Gunnery Sgt. Ryan Scranton at 678-464-2553 or ryan.scranton@marines.usmc.mil
