    3d Medical Command Deployment Support

FOREST PARK, Ga. – Command Sgt. Maj. Robert Boudnik assumed responsibility as the senior enlisted leader for 3rd Medical Command Deployment Support Nov. 15 at Fort Gillem.

Boudnik comes to 3rd Medical Command from Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, where he was command sergeant major for Detachment 6, 3rd Medical Command Deployment Support (Operational Command Post). He assumed the position after returning from the deployment in Kuwait.

Boudnik says that his goals for 3rd Medical Command is to “prepare every soldier and our extended military family for the challenges and opportunities the Army Reserve will offer. The more we prepare our soldiers and our Army family, the better prepared we will be when our nation calls upon us.”

Command Sgt. Maj. Boudnik was born and raised in Greenfield, Wis. He began his military career enlisting in the Army in August 1984. He attended Basic Training as a One-Station-Unit-Training soldier at Fort Knox, Ky. Boudnik has served as a United States Army Non-Commissioned Officer in all leadership positions through the ranks of sergeant and command sergeant major.

“I hope to bring teamwork, a passion, enthusiasm, motivation and inspiration to every soldier, civilian and family member within 3rd Medical Command,” says Boudnik. “Everyone within the unit is important. Everyone within a unit needs to be engaged and connected. That's because the quality of an organization comes down to the quality of the relationships between individual teammates. Relationships and teamwork give you an extraordinary unit.”

The 3rd Medical Command Deployment Support, also known as “Desert Medics,” manages all the Army Reserve deployable field medical units in the eastern United States. These units provide general, surgical, dental, ambulance, behavioral health, preventative maintenance, and veterinary support. The commanding general is Maj. Gen. Ronald Dziedzicki.

Boudnik assumes responsibility from Command Sgt. Maj. James Murrin. Murrin served as the command sergeant major for 3rd Medical Command since April 2011. He now serves as the command sergeant major for 7th Civil Support Command in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
