FLORENCE, Ariz. – Infantrymen of the Arizona National Guard conducted Expert Infantry Badge training in preparation for annual training, where the actual EIB certification will take place.
Headquarters, Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 158th Infantry Regiment, traveled to Florence Training Center and started their day with multiple EIB lanes from weapons familiarization, range card sketching, to arming and disarming a claymore mine.
“Every soldier should be exactly that, a soldier. They should be proficient in basic soldiering tasks,” said 1st Lt. Kevin Parnell, battalion operations officer.
Pfc. Cory Tinsley, an intelligence analyst with HHC, looks forward to the training and the eventual EIB testing later this year in Camp Navajo, Ariz.
“It’s a fun experience, learning things that I did not learn in basic training. Lots of drills or tasks that we would not get to do otherwise,” said Tinsley.
