UNDISCLOSED LOCATION - The 380th Expeditionary Medical Group held a ribbon cutting celebration for the expansion of the medical clinic here, Jan. 8, 2014.
“We had seamless support to make this happen,” said Col. Andrew Meadows, 380th Expeditionary Medical Group commander. “Contracting, civil engineer, security forces and communications squadrons all helped make this expansion possible.”
The expansion provides an additional 1,940 square feet and will provide space for laboratory and physical therapy capabilities which are scheduled to be available June of this year.
“Having the lab and physical therapy here will increase services and decrease costs to the wing,” said Maj. Tonya Moser, 380th EMDG administrator.
Having physical therapy available here will allow the 380th EMDG to treat patients here and help them return to duty quicker. This is especially important due to the significant amount of sport-related injuries, said Moser.
Additional improvements to the clinic include direct access to the trauma room from the ambulance parking area, two additional exam rooms and a private entrance for the mental health clinic.
“In terms of how we do business, this is a game changer,” said Meadows. “It has given us the opportunity to spread out and make space for new capabilities. This is a big milestone for the medical group and the installation.”
"Coinciding with our motto, 'Executing today and preparing for tomorrow,' we are doing everything we can now to make things better for those that follow us," said Col. James Copher, 380th Air Expeditionary Wing vice commander.
