    CAMP LEMONIER, Djibouti – Camp Lemonier held an awards ceremony Aug. 16 at the New Cantina for service members selected by their senior enlisted leadership for a "job well done" during the month of July.

    The service members honored for the month of July include: Soldier of the Month, Spc. Nathan W. Waterhouse (1/294th Delta Co.); Army NCO of the Month, Sgt. Vera I. Tainatonga (1/3rd Delta Co.); Airman of the Month, Senior Airman Thomas D. McCaulla (Information Management); Air Force NCO of the Month, Tech. Sgt. Andrea R. Callies (Air Expeditionary Group); Junior Sailor of the Month, Petty Officer 3rd Class Michael Tighe (N3); Senior Sailor of the Month, Petty Officer 2nd Class John Neciosup (Security); Marine of the Month, Lance Cpl. Shaun L. Dorton (6th Provisional Security Co.), Marine Corps NCO of the Month, Cpl. Joseph A. Brophy (6th Provisional Security Co.).

    "I feel very honored to get this award," said Tainatonga. "But it is only due to the great leadership in my office, that I have won this honor."

    "I stood out among my peers during countless hours - working on projects," said McCaulla. "I made the list on my first try!"

    "There are a lot of people in my office who deserve this award," said Neciosup. "I feel that it is well deserved on my part and I am happy to have made the cut."

    "Out of 300 Marines, I was chosen this month," said Dorton. "What an awesome feeling to be recognized by my friends."

    Criteria for the monthly award include leadership and job performance in primary/alternate duties such as job accomplishments, leading peers and developing subordinates. The award also highlights self-improvement, which includes personal and professional growth and camp/community involvement.
