CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait - Army Lt. Col. Kelley McIntyre took the reins of both Defense Contract Management Agency Kuwait and DCMA Iraq in December, consolidating leadership in the region as the agency’s Contingency Contract Administration Services mission continues to transform.
The transition between the outgoing DCMA Kuwait commander, Air Force Lt. Col. Jonathan Sorbet, and McIntyre was marked by a change of command ceremony at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Dec. 19. The ceremony was officiated by Air Force Col. Robert Menard, DCMA Middle East commander, with DCMA Middle East and Kuwait team members, post leadership and guests in attendance.
McIntyre also assumed command of DCMA Iraq as Army Lt. Col. Kim Thomas completed her tour as commander. The consolidation of the leadership of DCMA Kuwait and DCMA Iraq has been in the works for months and was completed shortly after McIntyre’s arrival.
Prior to McIntyre’s current deployment, she served as DCMA International’s deputy director for the Contracts Staff Group at Fort Lee, Va. She has also served on previous tours as a contingency contracting officer in Kuwait and Iraq.
DCMA Kuwait’s mission area includes multiple locations within Kuwait, with a continuous presence at Camp Arifjan and Camp Buehring, and in the countries of Bahrain, Oman and Qatar.
