WASHINGTON - The Joint Force Headquarters - National Capital Region/ U.S. Army Military District of Washington Chaplain’s Office hosted a retirement ceremony for Staff Sgt. Brian C. Krum, MDW Command chaplain assistant held at Fort Lesley J. McNair. The ceremony was hosted by Chaplain (Col.) Michael E. Brainerd, MDW command chaplain and Master Sgt. Carlos Clausel, MDW command chaplain noncommissioned officer in charge.
During the ceremony Krum was awarded with the Meritorious Service Medal for his exceptionally meritorious service while serving as a chaplain assistant noncommissioned officer for the 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), Arlington National Cemetery, and the MDW Command Chaplain’s Office. Krum’s tireless efforts and his dedication to duty directly contributed to the success of critical and high visibility events. He conducted religious support programs for over 1,250 soldiers and their families that included weekly Bible studies and Strong Bonds retreats.
Krum’s retirement from the U.S. Army was effective March 4, 2014.
