CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – This week’s U.S. Army Central Soldier Spotlight is Spc. Korina Garcia, a USARCENT human resource specialist.
Garcia, an El Paso, Texas native, is an Army reservist out of Kaiserslautern, Germany with five years of service in the U.S. Army Reserves. Garcia is one month into a nine-month deployment to Kuwait.
This is Garcia’s first deployment. She plans to reenlist after her initial eight-year contract and move to Boston after her deployment with her husband, an active duty Soldier. Garcia is currently enrolled in American Military University working toward a general studies degree.
Q: What is your favorite movie genre?
A: Comedy, because I love to laugh.
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: Sushi, I just recently tried it and it was like opening a whole new world.
Q: What are your goals?
A: After this deployment I want to get into an ROTC program and eventually join the officer corps.
Q: What are you most proud of?
A: My family, because they are my everything; my motivation.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I like to relax and watch movies.
Q: If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why?
A: Beyonce, because she is powerful and she has talent.
