    3d Medical Command Deployment Support

CAMP TAHREER, Kuwait. – Brig. Gen. Faleh, commander of the Kuwaiti National Guard Support Command, hosted Col. Lisa Doumont, commander, 3rd Medical Command (Deployment Support) Operational Command Post (Forward) and Command Sgt. Maj. Leroy Benavidez, command sergeant major, 3rd Medical Command (Deployment Support) Operational Command Post (Forward) and other medical leaders for an information exchange at the Kuwaiti National Guard medical services headquarters April 17.

Doumont and her staff were greeted by Kuwaiti National Guard general officers, Faleh and Kuwaiti National Guard Director of Projects Management, Brig Gen. Khalid. They were invited to share tea and discuss medical administration, leadership and professional development and clinical capabilities of their respective armies.

After the meeting, Doumont and her staff toured various departments of the Tahreer Camp Clinic. Lt. Col. Abdul Rasheed Y. Al-Kandari, Ear, Nose, and Throat and Plastic Surgery Consultant led the tour and showcased the microbiology, hematology, clinical biochemistry, serology, pharmacy and dental departments.

“It was a great opportunity to exchange best practices with our Kuwaiti medical counterparts,” said Lt. Col. Lesley Watts, 3rd Medical Command (Deployment Support) Operational Command Post (Forward) chief of Clinical Operations. “We share the same passion for providing excellent medical care to soldiers, and it was very insightful to be able to tour their facilities and learn what tools and instruments their medical specialists are working with.”

After the tour, Doumont and her staff were invited back to Faleh’s office to discuss their overall thoughts on the tour and information exchange.

Doumont ended her comments by thanking Faleh and his team of medical experts and expressed her interest in continuing to build the relationship between the two organizations.

“The 3rd Medical Command is prepared to exchange information on various topics such as: preventive medicine, behavioral health, dental services, medical administration and much more,” said Doumont. “I am excited to have this opportunity to share our lessons learned and capabilities with the KNG medical community to learn from our KNG partners and continue to share best clinical and medical administration practices.”
