BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan - Airmen from the 83rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron, Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, participated in a training scenario where they treated casualties who were injured during a simulated improvised explosive device blast.
During the training, rescue crews flew on HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters to the simulated point of injury, provided security, treated patients, prepared them for travel, and safely departed the area.
Air Force rescue forces, also known as Guardian Angel, conducts combat search and rescue and personnel recovery.
