NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Army National Guard soldiers from A Battery, 1-181st Field Artillery Battalion, based in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, will return to the state on June 17, following their deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Roughly 75 members will depart from post deployment processing at Fort Bliss, Texas, on the afternoon of June 17, and return to Smyrna, Tenn., at approximately 2:45 p.m. at the Tennessee National Guard Volunteer Training Site at the Smyrna Airport. The group will then proceed to their homes in Lawrenceburg after final out processing in Smyrna is complete.
More than 28,000 Tennessee Army and Air National Guardsmen have deployed since Sept. 11, 2001.
Family, friends and media are encouraged to attend the event.
