MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – Shortly following his promotion, Lt. Gen. Kenneth McKenzie assumed responsibility of U.S. Marine Corps Forces Central Command from Lt. Gen. Robert Neller during a change of command ceremony here June 18.
McKenzie comes to U.S. Central Command following his time spent as the Marine Corps liaison to the Quadrennial Defense Review, where he advised senior military officials including Marine Corps Commandant Gen. James Amos on how the Marine Corps should be shaped for the future.
Prior to his assignment to the QDR, McKenzie served as the director of the USCENTCOM Strategy, Plans and Policy Directorate from July 2010 to August 2012.
