GRAFENWOEHR, GERMANY – Senior 7th Army JMTC leaders met with three local elected officials here Friday to reinforce host-nation relations.
In attendance were Andreas Meier, County Commissioner Neustadt a.d. WN, Edgar Knobloch, 1st mayor of Grafenwoehr, and Werner Walberer, 1st mayor of Pressath.
Joint Multinational Training Command leaders expressed the importance of maintaining personal relationships with the German partners. Various topics discussed included economic progress, continued host-nation relations support, and future need for local-national employment opportunities.
The attendees later viewed displays of U.S., Romanian, and Georgian tanks and Infantry Fighting Vehicles, which are part of Combined Resolve II. The U.S. tanks and vehicles are a part of the European Activity Set (EAS), which contains the most up-to-date versions of U.S. Army combat vehicles and equipment.
Combined Resolve II is a U.S. Army Europe-directed multinational exercise at Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels Training Areas, including more than 4,000 participants from 15 allied and partner nations.
The meeting concluded with each visitor receiving a tour of a Grafenwoehr Training Area range while riding in an Abrams tank.
