MARINE CORPS AIR STATION NEW RIVER, N.C. - Donning their finest evening attire, Marines and their daughters were treated to a night of dining and dancing at the fifth annual Daddy Daughter Dance at the Officers’ Club aboard Marine Corps Air Station New River, June 12.
As they entered the ballroom, the girls, accompanying their fathers for the event, received a flower and a bag filled with treats before making their way to a candy-covered table.
It didn’t take long for the excited girls to drag their fathers to the dance floor and kick off a night filled with laughter.
Jim Steadman, MCAS New River Marine Corps Community Services director, said the dances he attended with his daughter have always been a source of fond memories.
“This was the perfect time to take your daughter out and spend quality time with her,” said Staff Sgt. Dedrick McDannell, Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 26, avionics staff noncommissioned officer in charge. “My daughter had a great time dancing and getting to know the other girls, and it was nice to see her enjoying the innocence of youth.”
