TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Soldier highlight recognition is for Spc. Kayla Coleman for her effort during Vibrant Response 14. Vibrant Response 14 is a Defense Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Response Force training event based at Camp Atterbury, Indiana.
Coleman, 31st Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Brigade operations section, is moving through the pre-dawn hour with a purpose. Coleman and her assistant driver are finishing the final preparation and safety check of their Humvee before the advance party convoy lines-up for their departure. She is confident that all was ready and prepared to standard for the long convoy to Camp Atterbury, Indiana.
Coleman has been a big help for preparing the other soldiers in her section, said Staff Sgt. Silvia Zetino, operations section noncommissioned officer in charge.
Coleman, who was part of Vibrant Response 13.2, has mentored fellow soldiers in her section who have never experienced a joint force exercise of such magnitude.
Aside from being a role model to other soldiers, she was recognized for her ability and willingness to take on complex tasks with little to no supervision.
“Coleman sees things that are needed to be done,” said Zetino, “and she knocks them out.”
