FORT HOOD, Texas - Soldiers, family members, civilians and Central Texas community leaders will welcome Brig. Gen. Tim Lai, Fort Hood's new III Corps deputy commanding general (United Kingdom), 9 a.m., Aug. 14 at the III Corps Headquarters here.
Lai comes to Fort Hood from London, where he served as a member of the Royal College of Defence Studies.
This is the first time a British officer will hold the DCG position as part of an officer exchange program with other nations. The position was previously held by Canadian general officers.
