FORT BELVOIR. Va. - Roxanne Banks, director of the Small Business Administration’s Denver Finance Center, will be the new deputy director of DLA Acquisition, DLA Director Navy Vice Adm. Mark Harnitchek announced Aug. 8.
“Roxanne will be a valuable addition to our senior leadership team, so please join me in welcoming her to the Defense Logistics Agency,” Harnitchek wrote in an email to the agency’s senior leaders.
Banks will report to DLA in September.
She currently serves as SBA’s senior procurement executive and the primary adviser to the chief acquisition officer, where she oversees the execution of all SBA financial management and procurement functions. She previously served in a number of different organizations, including the Air Force and the Missile Defense Agency, and is a member of the Senior Executive Service.
Banks started her career in the Air Force’s Copper Cap Intern Program at the Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. She has served in a variety of leadership positions, including as director of contracting for the Joint National Integration Center at the Missile Defense Agency in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and has held assignments with the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force (Contracting) in the Pentagon and with the Air Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico.
Banks is a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps and has more than 24 years of acquisition and contract management experience.
She will fill the position that was previously held by Matthew Beebe, who became the director of DLA Acquisition in February.
As deputy director of DLA Acquisition, Banks will assist with all aspects of development, application, and oversight of DLA acquisition policy, plans, programs, functional systems and operations.
