JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. - On any given day, civilian and military leaders, such as the president of the United States, secretary of the Air Force, chairman on the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the commander Air Mobility Command and a plethora of other top decision makers may be at varied venues, addressing the nation or their department's top issues.
While flipping through evening television broadcasts, one could easily find a live presidential address happening, just as they close their laptop after watching a foreign national leader return to their country after pressing business here in Washington, D.C.
The information is plentiful and some would argue overloading, at times. However, what may elude some is the detailed and perfectly synchronized transportation to and from these worldwide venues.
For policy and decisions, Airmen march in step with their civilian and military leaders; when it comes to that high-profile transport, everyone turns to SAM FOX, the Special Air Mission Foreign (foxtrot) team of the 89th Airlift Wing, where perfection is standard.
The 89th AW mission is, "Enabling national interests through global transportation for America's senior leaders ... 'Safe, comfortable, reliable, connected and protected!'"
