BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – Jalalludin Haqqani's second eldest son, Sirajuddin, has become one of the most notorious enemies of peace in Afghanistan, according to Combined Joint Task Force-82 officials. They believe Siraj used his father's name and reputation to advance his personal agenda and differs vastly from his father in terms of tactics and allegiances.

"His allegiance is not with his tribe, the Zadran Tribe, or Afghans but with Arabs and al-Qaida members," said Army Lt. Col Dave Anders, CJTF-82 director of operations. "He has surrounded himself with the enemies of Afghanistan who only want to destroy progress for the people and the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan."

"Siraj's tactics are more closely aligned with international jihadism, the tactics of al-Qaida and terrorism, which include kidnappings, assassinations, beheadings and suicide bombings," Anders added. "Siraj is more concerned with his own political and military influence than the future of the Zadran people."

"Jalalludin Haqqani would not approve of Siraj's motives or tactics. He will never reach the status of his father," said Army Maj. Chris Belcher, CJTF-82 spokesman. "Siraj will continue launching suicide attack upon suicide attack killing more innocent Afghan men, women and children."
