MARYSVILLE, Wash. - The 364th Expeditionary Sustainment Command supported the city of Marysville, Wash., Parks and Recreation Department’s 10th Annual Touch-a-Truck event Sept. 13 at Totem Middle School.
Touch-a-truck is a unique interactive event that allows children to see, touch and safely explore big trucks and heavy machinery.
Great end-of-summer sunshine and nearly 45 big rigs helped make an estimated 3,000 visitors enjoy the event.
Organizers said the event is a great opportunity for members of community to meet the people who serve and protect the city.
Among the 45 vehicles from various local, state and federal agencies were fire trucks, police cars, military tactical vehicles and sanitation trucks. Some of the children’s favorites included the fire engine and a dump truck.
Since its establishment at the Marysville Army Reserve Center in 2012, the 364th has supported several community relations events to strengthen community alliances. In the future, the unit plans to support several community Holiday and school events.
