CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – This week’s U.S. Army Central Soldier Spotlight is Sgt. Robert Wenzel, a USARCENT information technology specialist.
Wenzel, a native of Haskell, N.J. has six years of service on active duty and plans to retire after 20. He is five months into a deployment to Kuwait.
This is Wenzel’s second deployment. He is currently enrolled at American Military University working toward a bachelor’s degree in information technology. Wenzel plans to reenlist at Camp Arifjan next week.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Back home I enjoy hiking, but out here mostly going to the gym.
Q: What are your short-term goals?
A: Going to the promotion board and finishing my degree.
Q: Long term goals?
A: I’d like to retire and live off of real estate income. We have two houses right now.
Q: If you could pick any duty station, where would it be?
A: Key West, Fla.
Q: What do you enjoy most about being a Soldier?
A: The sense of duty
