LEXINGTON, Tenn. – Tennessee Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, or ESGR, presented the Pro Patria Award to Young Touchstone Oct. 23, 2014, in Lexington, Tenn., for supporting their citizen-soldier employees. Spc. Keith Newsome of the 212th Engineer Company, Tennessee Army National Guard, nominated Young Touchstone this past year for the Freedom Award, the highest award that can be presented by the ESGR.
“I started working with [Young Touchstone] upon return from a deployment and feel valued as an employee and a military member. To be a part of this team of men and women is amazing,” Newsome described in his nomination for the employer.
The award was received by Geoff Smith, vice president and general manager of Young Touchstone, and William Rimmer, plant manager. Rimmer humbly expressed the company’s tenacity to support their currently serving employees and their families.
“We’re glad we can help these guys out any way we can while they’re here,” he said.
The Pro Patria Award is presented to only three employers every year. For more information about ESGR, please contact Employer Support Specialist Marvin Wells at 615-313-0753 or visit http://www.esgr.mil/tn.aspx.
