CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait – Warrant Officer Lamesha Craft, analysis and production chief for military intelligence (G-2) and Master Sgt. Quintina M. Donald, security manager and physical security non-commissioned officer for G-2 received the Knowlton award and medallion during an awards presentation here Dec. 22.

Craft and Donald are assigned to the 1st Sustainment Command (Theater) and received the Knowlton Award for excellence in their job capacities. The Knowlton Award is a special, distinctive, Military Intelligence Corps award to recognize individuals who have contributed excellence in military intelligence.

The Knowlton Award recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to the promotion of Army Intelligence in ways that stand out in the eyes of their superiors, subordinates and peers. Award nominees must demonstrate the highest standards of integrity and moral character, display an outstanding degree of professional competence and serve the Military Intelligence Corps with distinction. The Knowlton Award consists of a framed certificate and a silver medallion with a MI-blue ribbon, worn around the neck on formal and special occasions.

The award is named after Lt. Col. Thomas Knowlton. Knowlton's distinguished military service during the Revolutionary War was recognized by Gen. George Washington, who appointed him to raise a regiment for intelligence services. Knowlton is a symbol of excellence for the Military Intelligence Corps.

"Master Sgt. Donald has done a tremendous job in all aspects of security relating to 1st TSC and its subordinate and down trace units," said G-2 Sgt. Maj. Sean. E. Brewer. "Her professional example, knowledge of regulatory requirements, and willingness to work with each subordinate security manager has resulted in an outstanding security program that ensures the safeguarding of information and compliance of all of our Soldiers."

Brewer who serves as the top senior enlisted Soldier in G-2 also praised Ms.Craft's work.

"Her in-depth knowledge of intelligence processes and uncanny knack for predictive analysis served as the backbone of intelligence production when 1st TSC first arrived in theater," Brewer said. "She quickly developed intelligence products that were both user friendly and timely, and it is through her initiative that 1st TSC's G-2 section has gained the reputation as a premiere producer of quality intelligence within the MI community."
