SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Racine, Wisconsin, actor Gary Stamm, a veteran of 40 years of acting on stage, in television commercials, and as a voice actor, portrays President Franklin Delano Roosevelt talking about the Home Front during World War II in a free program Saturday, March 14 at the New York State Military Museum.

The program begins at 2 p.m.

Stamm has portrayed Roosevelt at a variety of events and toured in a one man show – "A Fireside Chat: A Conversation with FDR" which premiered at the The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in 2011.

As FDR, Stamm will discuss the changes the United States went through between 1941 and 1945 as millions of Americans went to fight in Europe and the Pacific and those that stayed at home worked in arms factories, rationed their food and car tires, and planted Victory Gardens. The American experience during World War II shaped the United States of today.

This is a rare opportunity to experience an important aspect of history "straight from the horse's mouth."

Located at 61 Lake Avenue in Saratoga Springs, N.Y, the New York State Military Museum is administered by the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs. It's collection focuses on New York's military history from the French and Indian Wars to the present day.
