TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. - The sound of a single drum echoes across Lance Cpl. Torrey L. Gray field and a Marine Corps drum major raises his ceremonial mace, prompting the 80 members of The U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps to prepare their instruments in unison. The brass glistened in the sunlight as the Combat Center was once again captivated by the talented performance of The Commandant’s own.
The Battle Color Detachment performed for the Combat Center at Lance Cpl. Torrey L. Gray Field, March 11.
The Battle Color Detachment is comprised of The U.S. Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, The Silent Drill Platoon and The Marine Corps Color Guard who conducted the Battle Color Ceremony for Combat Center patrons, and students from the Morongo Unified School District.
