CHEYENNE, Wyo. - The 243rd Air Traffic Control Squadron, Wyoming Air National Guard, Radar Approach Control, won the D. Ray Hardin Air Traffic Control Facility of the Year award for 2014.
Some of the units many accomplishments include expedited control of medical evacuation aircraft, support for Modular Airborne Fire Fighting missions, and assistance to in-flight emergencies.
The squadron directly supports Cheyenne Regional Airport and is considered the most reliable facility in the Air National Guard.
Tech. Sgt. Travis Wollison, an air traffic control craftsman, was awarded the Air Traffic Control Watch Supervisor of the Year award.
Dennis Fry, an electronics technician, was awarded the Air Traffic Control and Landing System Maintenance Technician of the Year award.
