CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait - The 3rd Medical Command (Deployment Support) Operational Command Post (Forward) provides mission command for U.S. Army Echelons above Brigade (EAB) Medical Units throughout the USARCENT Area Of Responsibility in order to support stability operations and synchronize medical forces and capabilities for enduring and draw-down operations while facilitating security cooperation engagements.

The success of the 3rd MCDS OCP (FWD) can attributed to the skill sets and experience of the staff, the initiative/forward-leaning attitude, and desire to be here. The opportunity to stretch assignments, leverage full extent of the command’s capacity and capabilities, and cradle the success of future detachments and the 3D’s endurance in theater.

Maj. Gen. Ronald Dziedzicki, commanding general of the 3rd Medical Command out of Fort Gillem, Ga., recently visited the Operational Command Post (OCP) Headquarters in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. The purpose of the visit was two-fold, to thank and congratulate the Soldiers for an exceptional job and effort and to continue to look for ways to improve the product that the 3rd MCDS provides the combatant commanders in theaters of operation. In referring to the combatant Commander's approval of what the 3rd MCDS does, Dziedzicki said, "Feedback from our customer base was exemplary! Our ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet mission needs was consistent" Dziedzicki added. "the 3D's brand is solid and continues to grow within the total Army."

When asked of the overall visit, Dziedzicki added, "it exceeded my expectations, the 3rd MCDS OCP FWD continues to exceed expectations and is continually improving with each and every rotation, setting a new standard of excellence."

The Soldiers of the OCP appreciated the commanding general's visit as it gave an opportunity to see the way ahead for future operations and the nod of approval from the chief made the Soldiers proud of a job well done.
