MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. - Lt. Col. Paul K. Johnson assumed command of Marine Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron 4 here, taking the helm from Lt. Col. David A. Mueller during a change of command ceremony April 30.
“Leading the Marines of this squadron has been the most rewarding part of my Marine Corps career,” said Mueller. “We have accomplished numerous achievements and deployments over the years, which could not have been as successful without the men and women of this squadron.”
Johnson was previously assigned to the Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, Virginia from June 2012 until March 2014.
“Lt. Col. Muller has done a great job of setting me up for success in terms of personnel and readiness,” said Johnson. “I plan to build on the past success of this great squadron, while continuing to train and qualify aircrew and maintainers.”
Johnson is not a stranger to the squadron. He previously served as the operations officer for VMAQ-4 and later as the Aircraft Maintenance Officer before his reassignment to Quantico, Virginia.
“I feel like I am coming home,” said Johnson. “I was the operations officer and aircraft maintenance officer for VMAQ-4 from March 2010 through June 2012. It was a very rewarding experience. I know the history of the squadron and I look forward to being the commanding officer and a part of that history again.”
