TRIANGLE, Va. – The National Museum of the Marine Corps is pleased to announce it will host the first-ever exhibit showcasing the winning works of the Department of Defense (DOD) Communicators of Excellence (COE) awards program.

COE is an annual DOD competition that recognizes the best military and civilian photographers, journalists, videographers and graphic artists in DOD. The NNMC exhibit will showcase 36 photographs from 25 service members, which represents work they did in defense of their nation in 2014.

Each COE work that will be on exhibit at NNMC portrays the diversity and talents of Department of Defense men and women serving across the globe. They depict pre-deployment training, conflict missions and issues affecting today’s service members. The works also demonstrate that, though these works were created while serving in an official capacity they show how that these service members are also artists.

Service members whose work is on exhibit will be available for interviews in the NNMC atrium on from 9 a.m. to noon May 6. This exhibit will run from May 1-31 in honor of Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day.

For more information about this event please contact Lt. Commander Karen Eifert at 757-676-2610 or via email at eifertke@gmail.com.
