KATHMANDU, Nepal - On May 11, Airmen assigned to the 36th Contingency Response Group in cooperation with DHL Contractors and the Nepalese army offloaded 509,380 pounds of cargo and uploaded 18,450 pounds of cargo to nine aircraft at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Since the 36th CRG arrived May 5, they have downloaded 2,261,554 pounds of cargo and uploaded 61,800 pounds of cargo from 49 aircraft in support of Operation Sahayogi Haat.
While deployed to Nepal the mission of the 36th CRG, which falls under Joint Task Force 505, is to assist the Nepalese to accelerate airfield operations and increase the capacity to bring in aid via airlift which will ultimately distribute aid faster to those affected by the earthquake that struck the region April 25.
