    MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. – As part of U.S. Central Command's ongoing efforts to conduct the Congressionally-approved training and equipping program for the Syrian opposition, U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Michael K. Nagata, Combined Joint Interagency Task Force - Syria director and U.S. Special Envoy for Syria, Daniel Rubinstein, met with Syrian opposition and civil society leaders May 24-25 in Turkey.

    These meetings provided an opportunity to further discuss the U.S. train and equip program, improve coordination efforts with Syrian civilian actors who have a role in the fight against ISIL, as well as the current situation on the ground in Syria.
