TUCSON, Ariz. - Over 80 members of the 129th Rescue Wing volunteered to assist Tucson Clean and Beautiful and the Midvale Park Neighborhood Association on Saturday May 30, 2015.
They worked together to clean up a multi-use field within Grijalva Park, which is dedicated to Tucson native, U.S. Army Spc. Christopher Moon. Moon died as a result of wounds sustained from a roadside bomb in Afghanistan in July 2010.
During the volunteer event, 129th members pulled weeds and picked up trash on and around the field. The 129th Rescue Wing is currently visiting Davis-Monthan Air Force Base for the exercise Angel Thunder 2015. They are grateful for the opportunity to give back to their host city, Tucson, and honor the service and sacrifice of Moon.
