BALTIMORE - A Long Island, New York, native has assumed command Friday of Coast Guard Station Annapolis during a change of command ceremony held at the station.
Senior Chief Petty Officer Corbin J. Ross, who has served as the officer in charge of Station Annapolis since May 2011, was relieved by Senior Chief Petty Officer William F. Krukowski.
Krukowski has dedicated more than 19 years of service to the Coast Guard, and his previous assignments include:
• Coast Guard Cutter Nantucket, Key West, Florida
• Coast Guard Station Shinnecock, Hampton Bays, New York
• Marine Safety Office Jacksonville, Florida
• Coast Guard Cutter Wrangell, Manama, Bahrain
• Coast Guard Cutter Marlin, Fort Meyers Beach, Florida
• Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach, Florida
• Coast Guard Station Fire Island, Babylon, New York
• Maritime Law Enforcement Academy, Charleston, South Carolina
Krukowski is a graduate of the Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer’s Academy, boat forces command cadre school, the Maritime Law Enforcement Boarding Officer School and coxswain school.
During his years of service, Krukowski has been decorated with many awards, including a Coast Guard Commendation Medal with operational distinguishing device, a Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal, three Coast Guard Achievement Medals with the operational distinguishing device, a Commandant’s Letter of Commendation and six good conduct awards.
