FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Lt. Col. Eduardo Castaneda became commander of the 163rd Fighter Squadron during a change of command ceremony, June 13, at the Indiana Air National Guard Base in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Lt. Col. Castaneda assumed command from Lt. Col. William Leahy in a ceremony officiated by Col. Mike Stohler, 122nd Operations Group commander.
Lt. Col. Castaneda has been a member of the Blacksnake family for several years, piloting both F-16 and A-10C aircraft. Castaneda leaves his position of approximately two years, serving as the 122nd Operations Officer.
In the last year of his command, Lt. Col Leahy led the Blacksnakes to a successful inaugural combat-deployment with the A-10C in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
