FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa.– Pennsylvania National Guard Soldiers assigned to the 3622nd Component Repair Company, 728th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 213th Regional Support Group, headquartered here, honed their skills by repairing and maintaining a variety of equipment during their annual training this month.
The soldiers in the unit are able to repair equipment from an HVAC unit to a heavy truck. The unit is also capable of repairing all types of weapons systems from M16 rifles to M777 howitzers. A component repair company enables units to make timely repairs to equipment without having a large logistics footprint. Nicknamed the “double deuce” the unit is full of both experienced and newer troops.
First Lt. Richard Ameisen, acting commander of the 3622nd Component Repair Company, said about annual training, “This annual training provided us with a great opportunity to carry out support maintenance missions for the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, which is the essence of our overall mission, and our soldiers did a tremendous job in doing so.”
The 728th CSSB is the largest unit within the 213th Regional Support Group with units located from Johnstown to Philadelphia. The battalion’s mission is to manage logistics and support functions for other military units.
The battalion’s companies include: 28th Military Police Company, 128th Chemical Company, 131st Transportation Company, 1067th Transportation Company, 3622nd Component Repair Company, and the 252nd Engineer Company along with the battalion’s headquarters company.
